Children are taught to become confident and competent mathematicians who can show understanding using different representations, solve problems, explain their reasoning and apply their learning across a range of contexts and curriculum areas.
Key skills are built on, practised and consolidated in order to achieve fluency.
Our approach to the teaching of mathematics develops children’s ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking risks, making connections and building a rich mathematical vocabulary.
